HIROTEC AMERICA Announces a New Stamping Die Tryout Center
Auburn Hills, MI., September 21, 2016 – HIROTEC AMERICA, Inc. a member of the global HIROTEC Group that specializes in the production of body-in-white closures, exhaust systems, and closure manufacturing equipment announced they are in the process of building a new stamping die tryout center in North America.
This $15-million-dollar investment will be located in HIROTEC AMERICA’s new state-of-the art headquarters that was built last year in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This center will combine HIROTEC’s 80 plus years of closure panel manufacturing expertise with the latest stamping die tryout equipment, which includes a high speed 5-axis machining center, a 300-ton spotting press, a 1500-ton tryout press, and a 2300-ton tryout press.
“This is an exciting time for HIROTEC AMERICA as we take another step into becoming an industry leader in stamping and assembly like our parent company, HIROTEC Corporation in Japan,” stated Katsu Uno, Chairman & CEO of HIROTEC AMERICA. “By growing our stamping die capabilities locally, we will be able to offer our customers the best and latest technologies for door panel manufacturing under one roof.”
HIROTEC AMERICA’s new stamping die tryout center will allow them to offer a completely integrated full vertical approach for body-in-white closures in a single facility. This unique capability will provide auto manufacturers a single point contact for stamping dies, assembly systems, and hemming equipment, as well as create an additional opportunity to eventually provide closure production locally in the United States.
Their new stamping die tryout center is currently being installed on their manufacturing plant floor and is slated to be fully operational in January of 2017.
